New York City mega developer Sam Chang has filed plans with the Department of Buildings to build a 14-story, 283-room hotel at 52-02 Van Dam Street in Long Island City, at the site of a building currently being used as a homeless shelter.

The new hotel will feature a restaurant, bar, rooftop terrace and 35 underground parking spaces. A one-story industrial building currently at the site will face a wrecking ball to make way for the new development.
