Blissville residents bring wakeup call

Akbar Rizvi, far right, president of the Blissville Civic Association, joined in a morning wakeup call for Mayor de Blasio across from Gracie Mansion. Residents are fighting a third homeless shelter about to open in their neighborhood.

The Department of Homeless Services is showing no signs of backing down in the dispute over its placement of a third homeless shelter in Long Island City’s Blissville neighborhood.

Neither are the residents of Blissville.
